Kirsty Elson’s 2019 calendar: the February image…
The poem below is not how the art-work was conceived,
Simply how, when I looked at it, it was perceived…
Two By Two
Two by two:
Cottages, merging white to blue,
Huddling, struggling
To balance true,
As if teetering upon a wide sea barge,
After boarding a Noah’s Ark,
Two by two
During the night, grim and large,
Vacant, barely moonlit, dark;
Befuddled, a straggle,
A feeble, vulnerable montage…
And yet the gull alighting
Offers hope, or salvation
And reality from a nightmare frightening
And succour from a clever creation…
