AFC BINLEY'S MANAGER EDWIN GREAVES REFLECTS ON HIS TEAM'S 2-3 WIN AT COVENTRY PLUMBING...

"AFC Binley got the game underway and in the 18th minute the Plumbing number 11 had the first chance of the game, but shot over the target.

In a fairly even first-half we created the better chances without causing the Plumbing goalkeeper any major problems, although he did have to make saves from Steven Young and Alpha Wurie.

Our best opportunity came in the 33rd minute when Fabian Spence won a tackle deep in our half before passing to Blake Kassar, who in turn passed to Alpha Wurie who shot straight at the goalkeeper.

In the 36th minute Plumbing were awarded a penalty for handball against Liam Roach and their number 9 scored to give them the lead, against the run of play: 1-0."

Half-Time Coventry Plumbing 1-0 AFC Binley...

"Plumbing got the second-half underway, yet we had another couple of opportunities with both Steven Young and Blake Kassar shooting wide.

We did eventually level the match in the 61st minute when Fabian Spence and Tyler Morgan linked up for Blake Kassar to finish in style, when his shot found the top corner: 1-1.

Plumbing bounced back really well, when they attacked down the left in the 63rd minute and the subsequent cross was not cut out. It was finished at the back post, to regain the lead for the hosts: 2-1.

As the game became more open Alpha Wurie went on a run and was fouled in the 18 yard box for the 2nd penalty of the game in the 68th minute. After a delay, Tyler Morgan scored to bring us level again: 2-2.

In the 73rd minute Bennie Adeeko and Samuel Zengeya replaced Tyler Morgan and Will Waddell.

In the 75th minute, the Plumbing number 12 headed over the crossbar from close range.

In the 86th minute Alpha Wurie was fouled, the free kick was taken by Andy Godfrey and it was flicked into the net from close range by Bennie Adeeko to give us the lead: 2-3.

In the 87th minute Kyle Metcalfe replaced Blake Kassar, Plumbing continued to push forward but couldn't create another opportunity..."

In Summing Up This Game:

"This was our first win of 2019 and boy did the lads have to dig deep and win it the hard way...

Coming from behind twice against a good Plumbing side, showed again that the lads never give up and keep trying to do things the right way.

Plumbing will be wondering how they got nothing out of this game, which neither side deserved to lose.

I wish all at Coventry Plumbing the best for the remainder of the season."

Edwin Greaves,
AFC Binley Manager...
