KIRBY MUXLOE v ASHBY IVANHOE: THE MATCH PREVIEW...

Kirby Muxloe have moved to Midland League 1 after being relegated from the United Counties Premier League and on Bank Holiday Monday, they entertain Ashby Ivanhoe, who in turn have shifted across to this division from the East Midlands League, following a 14th finish from 20 teams last term.

Kirby currently lie 8th in the league table with three wins from their four games and just one defeat, amassing 9 points and a goals ratio of 11-6. 

Home wins against Stapenhill (3-1) and Rocester (5-0) were followed by a 0-3 victory in the FA Cup at Anstey Nomads. Another league win v Stafford Town (3-1) was followed by the first loss, 4-0 at in-form Lichfield City.

Bosworth easily leads the scorers with a fine tally of 8 so far, whilst Adam Parry has 3, Suleiman Nassor 2 and Aaron Love & Jake Willetts 1 each...

Ashby lie 11th in the division with two wins, a draw and two losses, one of which came in their first outing, 5-1 at Paget Rangers. Their goals ratio is now 6-9 and they have 7 points. 

A draw (1-1) at Chelmsley Town in their second contest was followed by two victories, both by 2-0 and both at home, against Cadbury Athletic and Rocester, who also had a player dismissed during their defeat.

Ben Minshull has netted 3 times thus far, whilst Kerr Horn, Liam Donaghy and Ross McGarry have 1 goal each.

This local derby game should be a decent one between teams which have started the season positively.
