TYTHERINGTON ROCKS v NEWENT TOWN: FA VASE PREVIEW...

The FA Vase sees Tytherington Rocks host fellow Hellenic League Division 1 West team Newent Town on Saturday.

The hosts have made the brighter start to the season in truth, for Newent have struggled somewhat.

This will be a first visit to the Hardwicke Playing Field for

themowdog.blogspot.co.uk

although I did visit Newent in pre-season to see their 1-4 defeat against Fairford Town.

The Rocks have played three league games thus far, first losing at Cheltenham Saracens by 4-1, their goal being scored by Gael Basana, then they defeated Malmesbury Vics 4-2, a match in which Jordan Dent netted a hat-trick and Rick Davis nabbed the other goal.
GAEL BASANA: SCORED AT SARACENS...

A 0-1 loss at home to Headington Amateurs in the Bluefin Challenge Cup was followed by a 2-1 league defeat at Clanfield 85, where Dawid Ryback scored the consolation goal, although David Doe was also dismissed.
JORDAN DENT: HAT-TRICK AT MALMESBURY...

So, 11th in the league with 3 points from 9 and a goal difference of -2 doesn't read too well but their guests have fared much worse thus far...

Newent lost 1-3 in the league at home to Hereford Pegasus, with Luke Hawkins getting their goal, then Malvern Town travelled to Newent and hammered them 1-7. Jordan Cooper fired the goal for the hosts. A win on the road in the Bluefin Challenge Cup at Chippenham Town Development, 1-4, saw Cooper score twice, whilst Josh Higgs and Sanchez Grange snaffled the others.
LUKE HAWKINS: SCORED v PEGASUS...

JORDAN COOPER IN ACTION v FAIRFORD...

Sadly, Newent then lost at Adderbury Park 2-1 in the same competition, Grange again scoring. Grange nabbed his 3rd goal of the season in the 3-1 league loss at Malmesbury Vics, leaving Newent 15th of 16 teams with a goal difference of -10, considerably better however than bottom of the table New College Swindon, who are 23 goals worse off...
SANCHEZ GRANGE: 3 GOALS SO FAR...

So, Newent need an improvement in form and results, Rocks will be looking to advance in the FA Vase with home advantage and coverage of the match will be on my blog HERE from Sunday...
