AFC BINLEY MANAGER EDWIN GREAVES REPORTS ON HIS TEAM'S 1-0 WIN v FOLLY LANE RESERVES...

"Folly Lane got the game underway but it was Binley who started the better of the two sides.

In the 11th minute Justin Lang went on a run before setting up Blake Kassar, whose shot was saved by the Folly Lane goalkeeper.

Our next opportunities fell to Kenroy Dennisur, who headed over from an Andy Godfrey corner, then Kyle Metcalf who shot wide from the edge of the 18 yard box.

In the 22nd minute Folly Lane's 11 had a chance but shot wide.

We took the lead in the 24th minute when an Andy Godfrey corner was headed in by Justin Lang: 1-0.

More opportunities were created and missed as the Folly Lane goalkeeper pulled off good saves from Tyler Morgan and Blake Kassar.

In the 37th minute a cross from the Folly Lane 7 beat everyone and hit the crossbar before going out.

Blake Kassar had another opportunity but again the Folly Lane goalkeeper kept him out and Justin Lang's follow up shot was blocked.

In the 42nd minute Aaron Laming was forced to block a goalbound shot and the Folly Lane number 4 headed over from the resulting corner."

Half-time: AFC Binley 1-0 Folly Lane Res...

"We got the 2nd half underway but Folly Lane put us under more pressure, although without troubling Scott Davis in goal.

In the 59th minute Kyle Metcalf was replaced by Bennie Adeeko and in the 66th minute,
Mtshuza Ncube was replaced by Zach Garland.

Justin Lang shot over and Bennie Adeeko headed too high as more chances came and went...

On 78 minutes Danny Vincent was replaced by Travis Smallwood, who set up Justin Lang but he shot too high again.

Travis Smallwood also cut in but had his shot blocked and Tyler Morgan shot just wide from inside the penalty-box.

In the 83rd minute Aaron Laming was sent to the sin-bin and thus Folly Lane finished the game strongly.

Folly Lane thought that they should have had a penalty in the dying minutes and in the 2nd minute of added time they were denied an equaliser when Scott Davis saved from a Folly Lane forward when he was through one-on-one."

Full-time: AFC Binley 1-0 Folly Lane Res...

In Summing Up This Game:

"Another hard fought win for us today because Folly Lane never gave up and almost snatched a point at the end.

For me it was a story of us not taking our chances, especially when we were on top in the first-half.

Having said that, two weeks ago I would have been over the moon to have 6 points from our first 2 games but I really do feel we can still do better...

Best of luck to all at Folly Lane for the rest of the season."
