PERSHORE TOWN v MALVERN TOWN, FA VASE REPLAY PREVIEW, TUESDAY 3RD SEPTEMBER...

Malvern Town and Pershore Town drew 1-1 in the FA Vase on Saturday after extra-time, Shaun Griffiths' goal for the guests being equalised in the final minute by Sam Hunt's free-kick for Malvern.

The match was actually a tasty tie to be 'drawn out of the hat', considering the links between the two clubs in terms of players...

The replay on Tuesday in Pershore should be a cracking tie...

Pershore lie 10th in the West Midlands Regional League Premier Division with a win, a draw and two losses. Their goals ratio is 6-6 and 4 points have been won.

A 1-1 draw v Darlaston Town (1874) in which James Baldwin scored, was followed by a win on the road at Dudley Sports. Baldwin, Umit Eminoglu and Shaun Griffiths scored in a 1-3 success there, before Dudley Town arrived in Pershore and beat the Persians 2-3, with Daniel Noke and Matt Pinder on target for the hosts.
SHAUN GRIFFITHS...

After losing 1-0 at Wolverhampton Casuals, Pershore then travelled to Malvern for that epic Vase encounter.

Malvern Town switched to the Hellenic League Division 1 West for this term and I've seen a couple games at clubs from that division in the last couple of weeks, at Stonehouse and also at Tytherington Rocks.

Town have played only two league matches, winning both, first 1-7 at Newent Town, a place I know well, where Harry Clark netted a hat-trick, Ben Miller grabbed 2 and Curtis Smith and Bryan Craven 1 apiece. Malvern also won 3-5 at Thornbury Town, where Kyonn Evans scored a brace, as did Matt Turner, whilst Clark nabbed the other goal. Miller was binned as a sinner during that match too...
KYONN EVANS SHOOTS AGAINST LYE TOWN IN THE MAY CUP FINAL WIN...

So a healthy 4th place in the league and a goal difference of +8 has been a decent enough start for the Hillsmen...

Cup games have interrupted Malvern's season really, first losing 1-2 at home to Whitchurch Alport in the FA Cup, a game which saw Lewis Loader find the net, then they won 2-6 at Longlevens in the Bluefin Challenge Cup, where Evans and Turner scored 2 each, Clark and Loader 1 each.

Coverage of the game will be HERE from Wednesday, with images, video highlights, a match report and hopefully some screenshots too...
