SKY OF ROSTOV... (My new poem inspired by Ksenya Istomina's painting of the same name...)

 Sky Of Rostov…

(Inspired by Ksenya Istomina’s painting of the same name…)

Despite the shadowy remains of a troubling storm,

A dull yellow path lures one towards an invitation,

A white house snug within its woodland shroud,

Whilst beyond, a sliver of an island lies dark,

Silhouetted upon steely water shimmering like ice, stark

Beneath the threat of spiteful, swirling charcoal cloud.

The dwelling entices, offering comfort and a suggestion

Of shelter, a roaring fire and a welcome reassuringly warm…

Really liked this painting…

The house’s white facade reminds me of a barn owl’s face, staring out of the dusk…
