AIR CONDITIONING... (Another poem from my two visits to Dubai, this time, 2005...)

 Air Conditioning…



Desert builders thrust logs

Emphatically through towers’

Open sides,

Which must nearly have decapitated 

Someone, yet a laundrywoman would be elated

As cool air pleasantly emerged

From her wet washing hung over the poles,

To attract, then freshen the breeze

To provide air-conditioning with consummate ease…
