DUBAI MARKETEERS... (My poem about downtown Dubai in 2005...)

 Dubai Marketeers…

If it wasn’t the bags

Their fidgeting moustaches tried to sell,

Sidling up to my casual manner,

It was watches

Or dubious CDs,

Or a jabbering need

To encourage me into their shops,

Or the grim backs,

Where dark stacks

And layered racks

Of cushions, shoes and fake fashions

Waited for their random

Haggled pricing,

Barely enticing

Or even disguising

Their infinite greed…

Pete Ray

Walking in market areas of Dubai, constantly having to decline offers or simply showing ignorance.

At least I was well mannered…
