DEVIL'S FRYING PAN... (My poem about a place near Cadgwith Cove, Lizard Peninsula, Cornwall...)

 Devil’s Frying Pan…

Handle reached under rocky roof,

Opening into a loop

Where sea-food cooked

And sizzled and looked

Like boiling brimming soup…

Pan overflowed onto rocky shore,

Spilling its contents vile

Where danger lurked

And spat and irked

Like sour spewing bile…

Devil hovered over rocky incision

Lying in awesome wait

Where fools would stumble

And slip and tumble

Like helpless human bait…

Near Cadgwith Cove, Lizard Peninsula, Cornwall…

This collapsed cave looked rather like a frying pan

waiting below the dangerous cliffs…
