PORTH CHAPEL METAMORPHOSIS... (My poem written about my first visit to Porth Chapel beach, Cornwall, 2008...)

 Porth Chapel Metamorphosis…

I stood beside the ancient stones

Of St Levan’s legendary well

And felt the presence,

Stood in awe

At the remnants of his essence…

I slithered down the crumpled paths

Of Porth Chapel’s hostile cove

And witnessed the aggression,

Watched in awe

The tide’s putrid mutation…

I recoiled at the tentacle filaments

Of the ocean’s willowy trails

And detested the intention,

Observed in awe

Of the shoreline’s jellyfish deception…

April 2008 and my first views of the wonderful Porth Chapel beach in Cornwall, near St Levan’s Church and the Minack Theatre…

The entrails of the shallow tide reminded me of

jellyfish tentacles…
