THE AFC BINLEY MANAGER EDWIN GREAVES WRITES ABOUT HIS TEAM'S 1-1 DRAW v BRINKLOW...

"Binley got the game underway and started brightly but couldn't create any clear-cut opportunities until the 15th minute when Blake Kassar had a shot saved by the Brinklow goalkeeper.

Brinklow started to grow in confidence as the game went on and their numbers 5 and 7 started to win the midfield battle.
Brinklow took the lead in the 42nd minute when their number 8 scored with a fine shot that gave Sebastian Kassar no chance: 1-0."

Half-Time: Brinklow 1-0 AFC Binley...

"At half-time Blake Kassar was replaced by Bennie Adeeko.
Brinklow started the 2nd half full of confidence and almost doubled their lead in the 51st minute when their number 10 forced a good save from Sebastian Kassar.

On 65 minutes Ebenezer Fasoranti was replaced by Kyle Metcalfe.

In the 82nd minute we created our first clear-cut opportunity of the 2nd half when Tyler Morgan shot over from a corner.
We did eventually equalise in the 85th minute when an Andy Godfrey free-kick found Liam Roach, who scored his first goal for the club: 1-1.

Brinklow almost snatched all three points when they hit a post in the 87th minute and then had a set-piece headed off the goal-line by Samuel Zengeya in the 89th minute."

Full-Time: Brinklow 1-1 AFC Binley...

In Summing Up This Game:

"This was a game of very few chances with neither goalkeeper having that much to do over the 90 minutes but when called upon they did what they needed to.

Brinklow took the lead with a well taken goal and their numbers 5 and 7 won everything in the air in the 1st half and their team looked to be heading home with all 3 points.

However our unlikely hero today was Liam Roach who scored his first goal for the club and earned us a deserved point.
My lads kept going and worked hard today to get something out of the match but I think both teams will agree that a draw today was a fair result.

Good luck to all at Brinklow for the rest of the season.

Up next for us is a home game in the Bermuda Cup versus Christ The King's reserve team."
