BRETFORTON OB MANAGER STEVE EDGHILL REPORTS ON HIS TEAM'S 6-1 WIN OVER SHIPSTON EXCELSIOR LAST NIGHT...

"Firstly, I thought we played well. We knew it was going to be a tough test as they had players who had played in the MFL but I believed our team was much better than them in terms of quality.

It wasn't our best start to the game as we couldn't keep the ball for more than two seconds and it was quite frustrating. But after 15 minutes we started to settle down and a long ball from Callum Marshall went over their left-back and put through Aidan Booth, who coolly lobbed the 'keeper from outside the penalty-box to give us the lead.

DIXON, IN BLUE, TAKES ON TWO AJAX DEFENDERS ON TUESDAY...

That didn't last long though, as we gave away a silly free kick just on the left-hand side of the 18 yard box and Shipston crossed it in and scored with a free header.

We had talked about this before the game and we can't be conceding cheap goals from set-pieces. We needed a good response and we got it from Mani Singh, as he took on two players on the right-hand side, got into the 18 yard box and found Tom Dixon who hit the ball first time into the top right corner of the net.

I thought it was fantastic goal and it was nice to see the two strikers working together. A few minutes later, a fantastic run from Dixon saw him taken down in the penalty-area and the referee awarded a penalty. Edghill (er, that's me...) stepped up and coolly scored the penalty.

EDGHILL, LEFT: A 'COOL' PENALTY...

At 3-1 up at the break, I thought we had been good but not at our best, for I thought we could've done better.

In the second-half we scored three great goals. The fourth came from a great reverse ball by Kamil Zieba to Mani Singh, who coolly slotted it home from outside the penalty-box with his left foot.

After a few minutes we got the fifth, when JD Cole chipped the 'keeper from the right-hand side, but inside the 18 yard area.

The final goal stemmed from a great through-ball from Mani Singh to Aidan Booth, who anticipated the 'keeper's move and passed it to Kamil Zieba, who slotted the ball home with his left foot.

Overall, I think we played well. The second period was much better, as we had the ball more and Shipston didn't cause us much trouble. Dixon and Harry Quirke were superb, Herborn and Booth on the wings were unstoppable and Kamil and Singh up top were causing chaos.

MANI SINGH SHOOTING JUST TOO HIGH ON TUESDAY v CENTRAL AJAX...

It was good to see six different goalscorers!

Now attention turns to Tuesday night as we welcome FC Stratford and that's our toughest test yet. I know Danny Janes and I know it's not going to be an easy fixture as we are going to be the underdogs. But you know, anything can happen in football and it's not only going to be about minutes but also about the result, because I believe in the lads and I want to make a statement.

We will expect a hard game like against Central Ajax with fast football but I think we will match them. We will get our strongest team out against them and I think going forward we will be dangerous with the likes of Dixon, Singh and Kamil. Hopefully it will be a great game for us and for the fans."
