THE EYES & THE ANGLES: MY NEW POEM ABOUT A PICTURE OF FALMOUTH BY ARTIST GILL JANSEN...

 The Eyes & The Angles

(from Gill Jansen’s Falmouth picture…)

The eyes and the angles dominate the scene:

The gulls seeking carrion with veracity,

The dog peeking keenly at their audacity

And the sterns looking surprised

At their vessels’ capacity

To roll and writhe

Against their anchorage…

The eyes and the angles fragment the scene:

The masts and lines curiously leaning,

The gulls gliding and gleaning

And the bland windows seem traumatised

By the harbour’s vivacity,

Its vibrancy and colour,

Creating its heritage…

Love the humour in this artist’s work…

All based on Falmouth, I believe…
