AFC BINLEY MANAGER EDWIN GREAVES REPORTS ON HIS TEAM'S 4-1 WIN v GURDWARA GNP ON SATURDAY...

 Game 3:

"We got the game underway and were on the offensive straight away with Blake Kassar forcing an early save from the GNP goalkeeper. Our first corner of the game was taken by Melusi Mazwi but it was headed wide by Liam Roach.

GNP had their first opportunity in the 9th minute which forced Scott Davies into a save.

We soon opened the scoring when a neat pass from Melusi Mazwi was converted by Blake Kassar: 1-0.

We almost doubled our lead when a Tyler Morgan header found Brian Ndlovu, who shot wide. More chances went begging as Tyler Morgan's shot hit a post with the GNP goalkeeper beaten, Brian Ndlovu had a one-on-one from which the GNP goalkeeper pulled off a good save and Tyler Morgan headed over the bar from the resulting corner.

In the 41st minute we got the second goal we deserved with a good team move involving Sebastian Kassar, Tyler Morgan and Blake Kassar, which was finished off by Brian Ndlovu: 2-0.

In added time GNP's 7 had a shot which went wide."

Half-time: AFC Binley 2-0 Gurdwara GNP...

"GNP got the 2nd half underway and immediately looked a different side going forward and reduced the deficit in the 49th minute, when a cross wasn't cleared and the GNP number 10 scored from inside the penalty-box: 2-1.

GNP started growing in confidence and started to get a grip on the game and playing the better football, then on the hour they almost equalised when their number 7 hit a post and somehow the ball stayed out.

Five minutes later we had the opportunity to put the game out of reach when a Brian Ndlovu run and cross found Tyler Morgan but he missed from close range.

Steven Young was replaced by Will Waddell and in the 72nd minute and then GNP number 14 had a free-kick which went just wide.

15 minutes from the end, Liam Roach passed to Will Waddell who fed Blake Kassar, before his cross was blocked by a GNP defender and the ball fell loose. Will Waddell picked up the ball, took a touch and fired in a shot which the GNP goalkeeper got a hand to but couldn't keep out of the net: 3-1...

Tyler Morgan was replaced by Bennie Adeeko and in the 82nd minute the substitute found Blake Kassar, who scored from close range: 4-1...

Just before full time Bennie Adeeko had a chance to score but shot over the target."

Full-time: AFC Binley 4-1 Gurdwara GNP...

In Summing Up This Game:

"After having two weeks off, we started the game surprisingly well and deserved our lead at half-time but we should have been further ahead after wasting good opportunities and the GNP goalkeeper pulled off some good saves.

In the 2nd half GNP were a bigger threat going forward deserving their goal and they continued to put us under pressure. However, we weathered the storm and finished the game strongly with two late goals.

It's always nice to win games of football, especially when I think there is still room for improvement.

Good luck to everyone from Gurdwara GNP for the rest of the season.

The Miners Arms M.o.M on Saturday was Sebastian Kassar..."
