Musing The Moon
(from the artwork by artist Maggie Roberts…)
Snout twitches its acute sensitivity
As it sniffs a nocturnal breeze,
In awe of a full moon’s lucidity;
Earnest eyes peer reflectively,
Its demeanour patiently at ease,
Yet still it will move furtively;
Head raised, its exposed audacity
No imminent danger sees
And it reveres its sanctity;
The badger will turn shortly,
Its motion at first will freeze,
Then return it to the sett, deceptively…
