The Sea Turtle At Portscatho…
A heavyweight, it lurches,
Stumbles and fumbles
Out of the shallows and reaches
For a dry place on rocks
To cling onto, as the tide surges.
The sea urges itself onto the giant shell
With a-spitting and a-scurrying
But the turtle hauls and strains,
One eye indolent, as it purges
Itself of the ocean’s constraints,
Then pauses for respite from its scuttling and worrying…

I looked down from the coast path and saw the outcrop with a hole which could have been an eye.
The remainder of the form reminded me of a turtle, hence the above verse…
