COVENTRY UNITED MANAGER TERRY ANDERSON PREVIEWS HIS TEAM'S DEBUT IN THE FA CUP ON SUNDAY & DISCUSSES THE NEW SIGNINGS...

TERRY ANDERSON ON A PROUD DAY...
"Sunday will be such a massive day for the club and the fans. The owners have worked so hard off the pitch and all the players and staff who have been here in the few short years since the club has been formed have worked hard on it also, to put the club in the position to be able to enter this great FA Cup competition.

The lads, myself and the coaching staff have worked really hard in this pre-season too and everyone is raring to go...

We have made a few signings in pre-season that we think will strengthen us, the biggest one being ex-Coventry City player Kevin Thornton. Kev has been class since he came in, on an off the pitch. If he continues in the form he has displayed, he will be massive for us this season.

We have also brought Jean Dakouri back to the club. Jean is a tenacious midfielder with a great engine and it's great to have him back. We have also added 3 new defenders in Gary Moran, Elliott Palmer and Lewis Hudson.

Gary will bring experience to the team as he has been in non-league football for many years. Elliott, 20 and Lewis, 17 are two of our youngest players but they have shown that it doesn't matter how old you are: if you're good enough, you will play!

Keeping most of the lads from last season was also very important for us, so just adding a few new faces, we feel we are ready for this very long season ahead. Hopefully we can get a win on Sunday, then focus on our first league game next Saturday..."
