MACAULEIGH RICHARDS OF BRINKLOW FC COMMENTS ON HIS TEAM'S DRAMATIC 1-3 VICTORY @ FOLLY LANE...

MACCA: not on the beach like his manager, but took time out anyway to report on last night's game...
Cheers, mate...

"Hiya Peter, it's Macca:

My views on the game versus Folly Lane are very positive... A mid-week game which was always going to be hard to field players for, due to work commitments and families, but we set out as we meant to go on.

There were a lot of chances created early on, due to great work from the back and through the team, which we got a lot of opportunities at goal from.

Our first goal came from a great interception in the middle, which was followed by a through-ball down the left channel and was then calmly crossed to be half-volleyed into the goal.

From the back to the front we were dominant for the majority of the first-half and we scored again through Blake, towards the later stages of the half.

In the second-half we started brightly once again with some great build-up play which led to the second goal, scored precisely by Blake. But we conceded a cheap goal too, from a great stike by a Folly Lane forward, which made it 3-1.

Unfortunately both teams went down to ten men, which made life slightly more difficult. Towards the last part of the half, the game became more open, as two more Folly Lane players were sent off.

Despite the game becoming even more open, we kept our shape to go on and take all three points to achieve a positive night for the football club..."
