TRICKY O'GRADY LOOKS SLIGHTLY FRUSTRATED DURING THE TIE v SHAWBURY...
"We knew before the game that it wasn't going to be an easy task to defeat Shawbury, as we'd heard positive reports about the strength of their team. They travelled a long way and I felt this gave us the edge in the first 15 mins of the game and with the advantage of the wind, we dominated possession and created a few half-chances.
After that they found their legs and the game was much more evenly matched with opportunities at goal few and far between. It took a bit of a freak goal from a wide free-kick that the swirling wind took beyond the' keeper and into the top corner to give us the lead. Of course I've told everyone it was deliberate but we were just happy to take a one nil lead into the break.
The second-half was tougher for us against the wind and Shawbury piled on the pressure, eventually equalising with 15 minutes to go. There was not much to report after that apart from a few tasty challenges from both sides which produced bookings.
On reflection, a draw was probably a fair result and we now look forward to the return fixture this coming week, where we will set out our stall to progress to the next round."
