AFC BINLEY MANAGER EDWIN GREAVES DISCUSSES HIS TEAM'S FINE 3-4 SECOND-LEG WIN AT BULKINGTON S&S IN THE BEDWORTH NURSING CUP SEMI-FINAL, MEANING A 4-8 VICTORY OVERALL...

"Bulkington got the game underway and passed the ball around with confidence. We forced an early mistake from the Bulkington defence and Fabian Spence took a shot which was deflected wide for a corner. Travis Smallwood took the corner and Aaron Laming scored with a header to give us the lead in the 5th minute: 0-1.

In the 22nd minute a Travis Smallwood pass set Paul Govier free who lobbed the advancing goalkeeper to score: 0-2.

On 34 minutes Bulkington scored from a close-range free header: 1-2.

In the 37th minute Bulkington had a great chance to draw level when their number 8 was through on goal but Ryan Oldham pulled off a great save to deny him and maintain our lead.

We scored again on the stroke of half-time when a Ryan Oldham kick was flicked on by Justin Lang for Fabian Spence to be through on goal and he made no mistake: 1-3."

Half-time: Bulkington 1-3 AFC Binley...

"The 2nd half started and Bulkington again had a great chance to score with the number 8 again being foiled by Ryan Oldham.

In the 50th minute a great double save from Ryan Oldham was to no avail as the rebound was forced in from close range: 2-3.

At this stage it was consent pressure from Bulkington but whenever their shots were on target Ryan Oldham and the defence stood firm, including a header off the line by Travis Smallwood.

In the 59th minute Travis Smallwood was replaced by Kyle Metcalfe.

On 64 minutes we caught Bulkington on the break with Fabian Spence and Justin Lang working well before setting Andrew Godfrey free who shot past the advancing goalkeeper to score: 2-4.
In the 73rd minute Justin Lang was replaced by Tyler Morgan.

More defending was needed as Bulkington pushed even more players forward and Aaron Laming, Curtis Smallwood, Sebastian Kassar, Danny Vincent and Steven Young did everything they could to keep the ball out of our net.

After 80 minutes Paul Govier was replaced by Will Waddell.

In the 83rd minute Bulkington again scored from close range when we could not get the ball clear: 3-4.

No more goals were scored..."

Full-time: Bulkington S&S 3-4 AFC Binley...

Over the 2 legs: Bulkington S&S 4-8 AFC Binley...

In summing up this game:

"Playing a team 2 divisions higher than us and unbeaten at home in the league we knew we had to start well.
We got off to the best possible start in this game with an early goal which set us up nicely in this tie.

Going further ahead and having a lead at half-time effectively gave Bulkington too much to do. However they certainly gave it a good go to turn this tie around in their favour, however Ryan Oldham was on top form today and made some saves that he had no right to make.

We attacked when we were allowed to and scored some good goals which kept the pressure off ourselves and on to Bulkington.

We have now got ourselves into a Cup Final: how amazing is that?

Little AFC Binley have beaten all the odds along the way to get to the Bedworth Nursing Cup Final. This will be an amazing day and night for everyone connected with the club and a game, no matter what the result, we will enjoy.

Our season's target has always been about trying to get promotion, however this gives us all something to look forward to towards the end of the season.

At the current time I am unsure of our next game but I am guessing we will be back to League action very soon..."
