GNP SPORTS MANAGER SHAMIR ALAM REFLECTS ON THE 0-0 DRAW v ALCESTER TOWN...

"You have to put it down to a one-off, based on the fact that we have scored in 26 games in a row...”

"Going into the game we expected a tough encounter after Alcester's form earlier on in the season and recently putting 4 past Bartestree. They played some decent stuff in their own half for the first 15/20 minutes and are certainly the best passing side we have come across but it was all one-way traffic thereafter, once we started to control the game.

We always take to the pitch to win the game so it's new to me when you have an opposition manager setting up his team with midfield players up top, playing for a draw from the 20th minute onwards.

I would have thought being 11 points behind us with a chairman and club who have promotion ambitions, they would have had a right go but I suppose teams are entitled to play however they please.

Next time we will just go 4-2-4 and hopefully that will entice them to go toe-to-toe with us!

You have to put the draw down to being one of those days and based on the fact we have scored in 26 games in a row we know where we went wrong and will be looking to put that correct this week and each week going forward..."

M.O.M. against Alcester Town is Matty Compton...

"We wouldn’t be where we are this season without our leader; he’s one of those players that’s performed most often. He is inspirational in the way that he is a winner.

When you're happy and confident, it’s easier to perform and he knows I trust him. He feels happy and confident and he’s playing well...

Yours in football..."
