GORRAN HAVEN, CORNWALL: A POEM & IMAGES...

Listed…

So, Charles Peach,
What do you make of this?
Your home, your angled office,
Gorran’s haven for collected fossils,
Your sandstone samples,
Pre-history, preserved in skeletal form?

And Mr Peach, Sir,
What make you of this?
Your house, the derelict tea-shop,
Gorran’s haven for toasted teacakes
And cream teas,
Preserves, prepared in traditional form?

So, Charles, H.M. Coastguard,
What will become of this?
Your abode, your domicile of memories,
Gorran’s haven for sought after heritage
And historical recognition,
Presupposed, predetermined in ephemeral form?

Gorran Haven’s tea-shop, horribly vacant, once the home of Coastguard and fossil collector, Charles Peach, who lived in the dwelling during the 19th century.
