In summing up this game:
"This game had everything in it for the neutrals but to lose a Cup Final is never easy to take, but we can hold our heads up high.
We didn't get off to the best of starts, going 0-2 down and then going 1-3 down before half-time.
In the 2nd half we were able show everyone the type of football we can play.
We always knew that we would be up against a good, experienced Christ The King Reserves side and they adjusted quicker to the poor weather conditions but they also played some attractive football.
We finished the game strongly and almost forced the game into penalties but the Christ The King Reserves goalkeeper was in fine form and even got voted Man of the Match later.
If we had to lose this game, I guess this was the way for us to do it.
A special thank you to Lloyd Wright who took time to come into our changing room after the game to say some nice things about my AFC Binley players.
This shows me that the club is going in the right direction at the current time and helped soften the disappointment of losing the game.
So I'd like to wish Lloyd and all at Christ The King Reserves the best for the remainder of the season.
As for us, we were part of a great occasion, had a great day and night and have some lovely memories to take forward.
Some of my players were playing in a Cup Final for the 1st time which will only help them grow as players, so I can definitely take more positives than negatives from the evening.
Back to league action for us now, as we still have work to do to achieve our season's target of promotion..."
Edwin Greaves,
AFC Binley Manager...
