Odd result at Inkberrow... Can you maybe explain what happened to your team?
"We weren’t good enough on the day; Inkberrow had two chances and were very clinical. No offence to Inkberrow but we shouldn’t be losing games like that, it was our first game since being crowned champions and we lost. It hurts and I’m not happy. As a group we had too many lack-lustre performances, too many players looking vacant and just going through the motions and feeling sorry for themselves for whatever reason but it won’t be tolerated or accepted. Now that we are Champions I expect more from the players in regard to their performance levels, I will ensure training is harder than it’s ever been and recruitment goes up a notch. The lads will either revel in that pressure or they will fold, so let’s see what character we get over the next two league games!"
I believe O’Grady was thwarted by the goal-frame...
"Yeah he hit the woodwork on three occasions with some sweet strikes but it wasn’t his day and unfortunately as a team we didn’t make their 'keeper work at all for our standards and that’s not good enough when you play for GNP."
How did Inkberrow set up and were you impressed at all by their performance?
"They achieved 3 points, so well done to them."
Central Ajax on Saturday: your thoughts?
"We need to bounce back like we did after the FC loss, when we put 7 past Ajax. Will we put 7 past Ajax again? I don’t know but I expect a clean sheet and we need to go back to being hard to beat, throwing our bodies at everything and defending for our lives. That hasn’t happened during the past 4 games..."
'Yours in football...'
