THE AFC BINLEY MANAGER EDWIN GREAVES REPORTS ON HIS TEAM'S 1-6 WIN @ BULKINGTON SPORTS...

"Bulkington got the game underway and were kicking uphill but both sides cancelled each other out and neither goalkeeper was tested.

In the 40th minute our first bit of quality came from a Steven Young pass, who found Paul Govier and he crossed to Blake Kassar. His first-time shot hit a post and went wide.

In the 42nd minute a Danny Vincent throw-in was flicked on by Tyler Morgan and Blake Kassar finished from close range: 0-1.

In our next attack we doubled our lead with a low Danny Vincent shot from outside the box: 0-2.

In the 2nd half Bulkington put us under a lot of early pressure and in the 57th minute forced debutant goalkeeper Ashley Riley into his first save of the game.

In the 61st minute Tyler Morgan was replaced by Justin Lang.
On 63 minutes and against the run of play we were awarded a penalty when a Will Waddell pass found Paul Govier, who was taken down in the box. Paul Govier took the penalty and scored: 0-3.

In the 72nd minute Travis Smallwood set up Paul Govier to score again: 0-4.

Travis Smallwood was replaced by Kyle Metcalfe and
Will Waddell was replaced by Curtis Smallwood.

In the 78th minute Justin Lang fed Paul Govier who made no mistake and completed his hat-trick: 0-5.

In the 84th minute Bulkington was awarded a free-kick just outside the box and I then saw the goal of the game as it was curled into the top corner giving Ashley Riley no chance: 1-5.

In the 87th minute a Curtis Smallwood pass found Steven Young, who set Paul Govier free to score his fourth goal of the game: 1-6.

Full-time: Bulkington S&S Res 1-6 AFC Binley...

In summing up this game:

We were nowhere near our best in the first-half but somehow still had a 2-0 lead at the break and Bulkington would have felt hard done by.

Bulkington gave it a good go in the 2nd half and we scored our 3rd goal against the run of play which effectively killed the game.

We managed to take our chances when they arrived but Bulkington scored the goal of the game with a great free-kick.

Today was all about getting the 3pts and we achieved that, we were also able to add to our goal-difference which could come into play at the end of the season.

We now have 3 league games to go and we are getting closer to the finish line but there is still some hard work for us to do, although our target of promotion is still within our reach.

Up next for us is our last home game, against Athletic Sparta..."

AFC Binley Manager...
