MALVERN TOWN v HEREFORD LADS CLUB: THE MATCH PREVIEW...

Malvern Town v Hereford Lads Club: Saturday 22nd February 2020:

The Match Preview

So, this will be my first trip to Malvern Town since the ground has been upgraded and the visit of the Lads will be a stiff test for the Hillsiders. The teams shared six goals some weeks back in Hereford and all the goals were scored before the interval. Oli Price fired a brace and Adam Hockey scored the other for the hosts, whilst Kyonn Evans, Louis Loader and Matt Turner were successful for the guests. There were six cautions delivered during the match, four of them collected by Malvern.

I saw the Lads win 1-4 at Stonehouse earlier this season and Malvern win a dramatic FA Vase tie at GNP Sports, 2-4 after overtime and the images below are from those two contests.
GNP'S LAWRENCE SAVES A HARRY CLARK HEADER...

Malvern currently lie 2nd in the Hellenic League Division 1 West with 15 wins, 2 draws and 2 defeats, having amassed a goal difference of +68 and they have 47 points. They are 2 points behind leaders Hereford Pegasus but crucially they have 3 games in hand.
JAMES FEBERY RECEIVES A CAUTION v GNP...

Recent form has seen the Hillsiders beat Cheltenham Saracens 4-2 at home, then came the draw at Hereford Lads Club, before they completed a resounding 6-1 home win against Cirencester Town Development. Turner and Evans netted twice in that match with James Febery and Dave Reynolds nabbing one apiece.
HARRY CLARK HAS SCORED AN AUDACIOUS GOAL FROM THE RIGHT FLANK...

Overall leading scorers are Turner with a massive 43, followed by Harry Clark with 24, then Evans and Reynolds with 18 each.
MATT TURNER'S JOY WAS SHORT LIVED DUE TO A LINESMAN'S FLAG...

ALEX LANCETT (2) AT STONEHOUSE...

The Lads are currently 6th in the league standings, although they have only played 17 times, winning 10, drawing 5 and like Malvern, only losing twice. The goal difference is +39 and 35 points have been secured.
KIEA COWLEY-HAIR IS SIN-BINNED AT STONEHOUSE...

Recently, Hereford have played twice at home, beating Wellington 5-1, then drawing the aforementioned match v Malvern, before sharing four goals at leaders Pegasus, where they had Liam Jones dismissed after only 16 minutes but drew the encounter with a brace from Alex Lancett.
STEVEN 'THE YELL' BELL...

Leading overall goalscorer is James Hancocks with 19, followed by Adam Hockey with 16 and Tom Bendall with 15.
JAMIE CUTHBERTSON HAS SCORED AT STONEHOUSE...

Full coverage of the game will be at themowdog.blogspot.co.uk from Sunday with a full match report, images, video highlights and screenshots…

This should be a fine match and let’s hope both teams continue in their quest for attacking play…
