Citrus Fire In Newlyn
(from a Jenny Aitken painting…)
Mounts Bay sky billows citrus fire
At sunrise,
Scattering gulls to blemishes, silhouetted
Against the burn;
Beam trawlers tug and fidget their ire
At the quayside tethering,
Livery scarred and weathering,
Masts and gear seemingly ablaze
In the Mounts Bay sky breathing citrus fire
At sunrise…
