Dancing Leaves & Probing Badgers…
Grudgingly a thunderstorm passed by with little effect,
Bar a flash or two of lightning and some spots of rain
Rapping at the windscreen, eventually becoming an empty threat.
Invasive cloud had rendered Badger Copse dull and green,
The intrusive heat lingered still but was unable to affect
The eager appearance of four badgers. Soon a sheep’s bleating refrain
And the flight-path drone of aircraft above their gaping sett
Failed to distract the feeding mammals from exploiting the scene…
And leaves danced
To the rhythm of
Raindrops falling,
Shifting them lightly…
And leaves pranced
To the nudges of
Badgers foraging,
Lifting them slightly…
