HARBOUR HUES... (My new poem about Mousehole, Cornwall, 13th December 2025...)

 Harbour Hues…

A receding tide wrenched itself beneath the baulked entrance

To Mousehole’s harbour, its traditional Christmas lights shivering

In a lithe breeze and casting strange patterns of colour upon the surface, rippling and dark.

Headline letters of dull yellow reflected across the brine like an apron askance,

One of three sailing ships streamed multicolour striations, too extreme and glittering,

Whilst revealed mud and damp sand revelled in the horrors of their own sinful murk…

Mousehole’s Christmas lights making colour disperse across the harbour…
