Winter Solstice…
(Inspired by Catrìona Reid’s artwork…)
A slim, angular but hardy sapling twists away from the eyes in the storm,
Coy, almost, shying away downwind of the seething, gyrating squall,
Tenuously rooted in a slick, black, oily landscape, as the swarm
Of surly, grey to white cloud rises, tousles, swivels and starts to fall.
And thus the spindly winter tree turns from the face of a spectral bull, its rage a-roaring
Vile venom, the head rising, bucking, lowering, then
imperiously soaring…

12th December 2025…
I love this artist’s work…
I saw the face of a bull, or cow, amongst the cloud formations and just had to write about it…
It appears faintly, like a ghost, just to right of the tree…
