Mud, Mooring Ropes & A Single Vessel…
Low tide mud fills the harbour at Mousehole, mooring
Ropes scoring lines abstract and sodden, redundant,
Their vessels, for winter onto the quayside hauled and hoisted.
Gulls plod in the mire, expectantly, whilst buoys like lost balls foisted
Lie forlorn in the slime, ridged, serrated and thickly succulent.
And an incongruous boat to the almost sepia scene adds colour, starkly glaring…

Low tide at Mousehole and a single vessel, likely used for access to and for servicing the Christmas lights in the harbour, adds focus to the bland, mud filled scene, as if a touch of colour has been added to an old piece of black and white film…
