AFC BINLEY MANAGER EDWIN GREAVES REPORTS ON HIS TEAM'S 6-4 WIN v BULKINGTON S&S SPORTS...

"We got the game underway and went very close to opening the scoring in the 3rd minute, when an Andrew Godfrey free-kick was tipped onto the crossbar and over for a corner.

Both Blake Kassar and Paul Govier had opportunities go just wide before we eventually took the lead in the 25th minute. A Danny Vincent free-kick was headed in by Fabian Spence: 1-0.

Blake Kassar doubled our lead in the 31st minute with a smart low finish and in the 43rd minute a Paul Govier corner was headed in by Fabian Spence.

Half-time: 3-0.

The 2nd half started with Bulkington looking for a way back into the game and it didn't take long. In the 51st minute Bulkington were awarded a hotly disputed penalty when Steven Young was adjudged to have fouled a Bulkington forward: 3-1.

In the 61st minute Bulkington again scored, this time when a forward ran through on goal to give Ryan Oldham no chance: 3-2.

Things went from bad to worse when we failed to clear a corner and Bulkington scored again in the 75th minute to make it 3-3.

3 Late goals from Blake Kassar on 80 minutes, Paul Govier in the 82nd minute and Fabian Spence in the 84th minute gave the score a comfortable look, before in the 93rd minute, Bulkington were awarded another penalty when Arron Laming was penalised for holding a Bulkington player: 6-4.

Full-time: AFC Binley 6-4 Bulkington S&S Res.

In summing up this game:

After having 3 weeks off due to waterlogged pitches it was nice to just play a game of football. We got ourselves into a 3 goal lead before half-time which if I am perfectly honest about, we didnt deserve but I certainly cannot complain.

In the 2nd half Bulkington got the early goal they needed and just kept coming at us, getting themselves back to
3-3 with 15 minutes to go, which was a great achievement for Bulkington and shows what their team spirit is all about, but hats off to my boys again.

They have not found themselves in this situation for a while now but they dug deep and came out the other side.

This was a massive 3 points for us in the hope of getting promotion at the end of the season. I hope we don't put in too many more performances like this between now and the end of the season but if we do at least I know the lads have a never say die attitude to get the job done.

Next up for us is a home game against Hawkesmill Sports Res."
