"The Enville game wasn't pretty but we showed the other side of our game, where we can scrap, work hard and grind out a result. It doesn't matter if the three points are claimed in style or are ugly: they are still three points..."
"Going into the Enville game we knew they would put 11 players behind the ball and it was going to be important to get a early lead and at times be patient to break them down. It was never going to be easy to go to Enville with their style of play but I was delighted with the result.
We made 3 changes to the starting 11 and another 3 changes to the squad, so I'm pleased the lads who came in did a job, showing the depth in quality we have and that the players can be trusted.
The M.O.M. award against Enville goes to 'keeper Paul Lawrence...
He's so important to how we want to suffocate the opposition and the position in which I like the defenders to hold is only possible if Paul is alert and is able to defend the biggest possible spaces, whilst also ensuring we aren't vulnerable to one-on-ones.
Paul's game has improved massively from the early stages of the season and long may that continue. The difference between solid goalkeepers and very good goalkeepers is that desire to keep wanting to improve and having that hunger to want 5, then 6 clean sheets in a row!
Yours in football..."
