Match Preview: FC GNG Leicester v FC Khalsa GAD,
(Leicestershire Senior League, 6th October 2018…)
A first visit by me to FC GNG’s Riverside ground in Leicester and it coincides with a promising clash between the hosts, who lead the league and their guests Khalsa, who are currently in 4th place.
GNG have played 7 league games, winning 6 and drawing the other, having achieved a goal difference of +13 and claimed 19 points. Their last three league matches have brought a 2-2 home draw v Friar Lane and Hepworth, a 4-0 home victory v Hathern and a 0-1 win at Sileby Town, courtesy of a Jimmy Rana penalty.
Jimmy Rana and Matt Baird have both scored 6 goals overall this term, followed by Vinay Sidar with 4.
Visitors Khalsa have won 4 and lost 2 of their 6 encounters so far, amassing 12 points, with a goal difference of +2. Recently, after beating Kirby Muxloe Reserves 3-2, they lost the next two league matches, 3-1 at Allexton & New Parks, then 2-3 at home to Asfordby FC, despite a brace by Leandro Jamaal Browne. He has 3 goals overall this season, although Sukhbinder Johal leads the chart with 6.
Full coverage of the game will hopefully be available at

from Sunday, with a full report, images and video highlights, despite the forecast rain…
