TRIUMPH ATHLETIC MANAGER JOE ATKINS COMMENTS ON HIS TEAM'S 2-1 WIN v COVENTRY ALVIS...

“The game today showed exactly what Triumph Athletic are capable of.

The lads have worked their socks off and we got our reward for it against a physical and direct Alvis side.

We spoke before the game about the task ahead and that I needed 100% off everybody if we wanted to walk away with anything and that’s exactly what happened.

I thought that there was a big contrast in playing styles. We enjoyed the ball at our feet, spraying it about and being patient, yet Alvis were quicker and more direct on the day, always looking for that killer pass.

Credit to Alvis as well, for they threatened often and gave us one or two scares but overall I think we did enough and the result was fair.

That’s now two quarter-final places booked already, we are improving every week but we need to keep our feet on the ground, starting again next Saturday, away to AEI Rugby.”
