PATRICK SUFFO: A COVENTRY LEGEND...

Patrick Suffo At Alvis Sporting Club, May 2013…

Scarred knees
And in obvious pain,
Forcing a grimace into his smiling eyes
And he stumbled;
Abruptly, gingerly, he jarred to a stop,
Hands resting upon willing thighs,
His strain betrayed in frowning eyes...

Clinical shot
And a majestic header,
Forcing a smile into his grimacing glare
And he stumbled;
Joyfully, expectantly, he hoisted trophies,
Hands clutching at hard won silverware,
His pride displayed in floodlights’ glare...

Patrick Suffo, Cameroon international footballer was playing too often in abject pain for Alvis Sporting Club.

He had been a Barcelona B player and amongst many other clubs, he represented Nantes, Sheffield United and Coventry City, as well as moving on from Alvis to Coventry United…

He netted twice, clinically, in agony, against Chelmsley Town but despite the ongoing hurt, he stumbled forward to accept the three trophies won by the team in 2012-13:
