SPORTING KHALSA GOALKEEPER JAMES PEMBERTON REPORTS ON THE 2-3 DEFEAT BY ALVECHURCH...

THANKS TO JAMES FOR TAKING THE TIME TO WRITE THE FOLLOWING:

"That was a tough one to take, to be honest. I thought a draw would have been fair but congratulations Alvechurch on finding a way to win the game: the sign of a good side!

After a fairly even first 20, we have been undone by one of the best goals you will see at this level; the delivery was perfect and to take it that early on the volley, even if I was set, I doubt I would have got there.

The goal right on half-time was a hammer blow but despite the task, the second-half response was strong and no surprise. We have hung in there and agreed, we have had an element of fortune with both goals; a nice break in the box and a harsh penalty. (The Alvechurch frustration was understandable after the one that was waved away in our box... It was only one hand though!)

At this point, do you push for a win or settle for a point? We have had a go and the game has opened up. Unfortunately, we got caught and a tidy move/finish later, we are staring at a defeat again.

We will learn though and can take full confidence that we are capable of a positive result against them. Luckily, we havent got long to wait: we have the return league game and a possible cup semi-final and I know our boys are up for that!!"
