"We knew going into this game that Stratford would be technically good, quick with the ball and an all round good team, as every Danny Janes team always is.
Looking at their start to the season we knew we would score at some point as they have conceded 2 goals in each of their 2 games to date, so it was set for a good game of football.
In truth, we were lucky not to be more than 1 goal down at half time; Stratford totally dominated the ball and we just couldn’t get a foothold in the game at all.
We were very lazy out of possession and very passive in possession and the only thing I knew at half-time was that we couldn’t be that bad again during the second-half.
We did better after the break, started hunting the ball higher up the pitch in packs of 2 & 3’s. We needed to be more aggressive on the Stratford players' first touch and to be fair we did it well.
From 1 down to go 2-1 up, then Stratford going down to 10 men, we should have seen the game through but credit to Stratford because they were tremendous with 10 men. We were not so good with a man extra, we seemed to panic and forget what we are good at.
To then go 3-2 down in injury time and staring defeat in the face was a horrible feeling, then with virtually the last kick of the game Sef converted that penalty... We showed good character but I can’t work out if it’s a point gained or 2 dropped! The emotions of this game were not good for the heart rate!
From us it wasn’t a good footballing performance but we dug deep to get ourselves out of a hole. Stratford are a good side but we knew that before the game.
In my opinion the MFL 2 this season will see everybody beating each other, as there aren’t many weak teams, so it makes out for a good battle every week.
Stratford are a good club with good people involved and we wish them all the best until we meet again."
