The Cattle, The Ocean & The Turbines
(Saltburn-by-the-Sea)
Grazing with intense concentration
And seemingly unconcerned
Upon a clifftop steep,
The cattle turned their considerable backs
Upon the shifting indigo North Sea,
As if it constituted an aberration…
Waving with grotesque automation
And apparently interned
Within an ocean’s deep,
The turbines turned their implausible arms
Above the consuming indigo North Sea,
As if they threatened an invasion…
