Game 2:
"We got the game underway and it wasn't long before the first goal chance was created when Rob Turrall passed to Blake Kassar, who was through on goal but the Polonia goalkeeper saved his shot with his legs.
In the 9th minute it appeared that Tyler Morgan was fouled inside the penalty-box whilst trying to get onto a Brian Ndlovu cross but the referee just waved play on.
Polonia had their first opportunity of the game but their number 11 shot wide and on the quarter-hour Brian Ndlovu and Blake Kassar linked up well but again the Polonia goalkeeper denied Kassar. The resulting corner came to nothing.
The Polonia number 7 shot wide and just after the half-hour mark a Brian Ndlovu cross was headed wide by Karl Bell.
Sebastian Kassar nearly scored from his own clearance but the ball just cleared the crossbar, then just before the break Rob Turrall gave away a free-kick and Polonia's 77 almost scored, when his shot clipped the top of the crossbar.
In added time an Andy Godfrey free-kick was touched into the net by Tyler Morgan: 1-0..."
Half-time AFC Binley 1-0 Polonia...
"Polonia got the 2nd half underway and the number 10 forced a good save out of Ryan Oldham, before Polonia's number 17 forced another save out of our 'keeper.
Almost on the hour, Tatenda Bako shot wide and Polonia's 22 shot over the target in the 68th minute.
Tyler Morgan was replaced by Jaydon Bickley and with 8 minutes remaining, Melusi Mazwi,Blake Kassar and Brian Ndlovu all linked up well, with Blake Kassar scoring from a Brian Ndlovu back heel: 2-0...
Melusi Mazwi was replaced by Sam Turrall and Tatenda Bako was replaced by Mtshumayeli Ncube..."
Full-time: AFC Binley 2-0 Polonia...
In Summing Up This Game:
"This was the first home game at our new home of Alan Higgs.
It was really important that we got off to a good start but in a tight first-half that could have gone either way, we got our noses in front in added time.
The 2nd half was much the same but an excellent team goal settled our nerves and gave us a deserved victory over the 90 minutes.
This win was extra special for me as Polonia beat us at home last season and after last week's defeat it was nice to get our first points of the new season.
Hopefully this victory will kick-start our season and the players can now build on this.
Once again the players coming into the squad after last weekend's defeat did me proud but it's only one game and only one victory and nothing to shout about.
I will challenge my players to improve on this performance, as I still think that we can get better and indeed we have to, if we are to achieve anything this season.
Our home games this season at Alan Higgs are being sponsored by UK Home Morgages, so a big thank you for the support they have offered us.
The Miners Arms M.o.M is Karl Bell..."
