I Ain’t Afraid Of No Car…
There was quite some belligerence,
A regal bravado, a stubbornness
Not to turn tail and retreat
As a car passed noisily along the lane.
The swaggering badger stood its ground
Upon a rise, a scraped soil mound
At the very edge of its sett’s wide entrance
And seemed to say, “I ain’t afraid of no car…” Its bullishness
Was slightly uncomfortable, yet firm in its conceit,
Its expression determined to display its disdain…

Temple Balsall, 2nd August…
A badger emerged from its sett as a car went past nearby but it stood its ground, as another raced for cover.
It was redoubtable…
