COCKFOSTERS MANAGER DEAN BARKER REFLECTS ON HIS TEAM'S FINE 0-3 WIN AT FLACKWELL HEATH IN THE FA VASE...

DEAN BARKER WATCHES HIS TEAM SUCCEED AT FLACKWELL HEATH...

Dean Barker kindly rang me this morning from a coach taking his young schoolboy footballers for a match at St George's Park.

He was looking forward to the draw for Round 2 of the FA Vase at lunchtime today and was still buzzing about his Cockfosters' team's performance at Flackwell Heath on Saturday.

He felt that the Flackers had been the better team through the opening 20 minutes but after settling more, his players forced a more even tie until half-time and to score immediately prior to the interval, following a defensive error by Flackwell Heath, was crucial. He felt that Ben Hart took the opportunity really well.

He saw his team dominate the second period and could have gone on to win the game by more goals, although he conceded that perhaps he was being greedy!

He considered the team's performance their best of the season against such a fine team as Flackwell Heath. He was impressed with the form of striker Varouxakis, who netted a brace but overall, it had been a team effort, he felt...

Thanks Dean!
