The Wind, The Deer & The Badger
A stiff breeze shifted
Spindly limbs on trees and forced
Leaves to dodge in a display of agitation.
A sole badger, interested but peeping
From its sett began a cautious creeping,
Sniffing for food as dusk drifted
Its gloom onto the terrain…
Turning, I shifted
My limbs between trees and forced
A glance to the rear in anticipation.
A silent roebuck, two metres behind
Stood regal and rather refined;
Slipping through wire, it drifted
Stealthily into the lane…

Rather odd when a badger feeds in front of me, whilst a deer lurks behind, likely wondering why I was a fake tree…
