BINFIELD 3-2 TUFFLEY ROVERS: the views of BINFIELD'S ROGER HERRIDGE, LIAM FERDINAND & CHRIS DEAN, ALSO TUFFLEY'S WARREN MANN...

ROGER HERRIDGE'S VIEWS ON THE GAME:

"The lads showed great character in the second-half to come back and win the game .

We started the game terribly, the two goals we conceded in that opening 11 mins were soft and avoidable .

A few words were said in the dressing room and we improved 100% after the break .

Ferdi continued his fine form with another brace.

In all honesty we could have won by a bigger margin in the end.

Both my substitutes came on and made a difference; it's a real bonus when you have a bench with players that can impact the game.

Knighty worked tirelessly for us throughout whilst Josh Howell was a constant threat.

Football is all about getting results & winning; we made hard work of it but got there in the end .

We play Flackwell Heath in a semi-final of the County Cup on Tuesday. We know we will need to be much better to win that game."

LIAM FERDINAND'S COMMENTS:

"Overall, the end result was good and we showed good character to get back into the game after going 2-0 down.

We started off a bit slowly and looked complacent but Tuffley worked hard & maybe because we haven't played at home in a while or maybe because we got a good result against Tuffley only a few weeks back, these things had an effect.

After the 2 goals went in, I think it gave us a bit of a shock and a boost as the last 20 minutes of the 1st half were much better, we created some good chances and should have made it 2-1, possibly 2-2.

We started the 2nd half just as we ended the 1st half and were more or less on top for the 2nd 45 minutes but just looking for the first goal. As soon as the first goal went in we always looked like getting another and again showed great character to go on and win the game.

I think the half time chat by Roger and Glen definitely helped and I'm happy that I got 2 goals which helped us get all the needed 3 points."

THE VIEWS OF TUFFLEY ROVERS SKIPPER & MIDFIELDER, WARREN MANN:

"I thought we played well the 1st 25 mins, we were 2 goals to the good but lucky to go in at half-time 2-0 up.

2nd half, we were still in the changing rooms for the 1st 10mins...  They were on top 2nd half and they had a lot of the ball.

All 3 goals were from our mistakes.  We can't keep making those same mistakes, game in game out....   But we go again on Tuesday..

We're in a relegation battle as we know and we have what it takes to get out of it, so we're all in this together and ready to fight to remain in the Premier Division."

WARREN MANN, MIDFIELDER & SKIPPER, TUFFLEY ROVERS...

THE VIEWS OF BINFIELD FC'S MIDFIELDER, CHRIS DEAN:

"We started the game very slowly and went 2-0 down in the first 10 minutes, which was very disappointing for us. However we always believed that we could still win the game. We had a few chances first-half but our end product wasn't good enough and we knew we had to up the tempo for the second half.

We came out for the second-half a lot stronger and showed a lot of character to turn the game round. A goal by Josh howell from a free-kick and another two goals by Ferdi were enough to get the 3 points.

We have a young team with a lot of games ahead of us over the next 6/7 weeks so this will be a massive test for all of us physically and mentally. However we have a good bunch of lads here at Binfield alongside a good management team and we do believe we can win every game.

Thanks again to The Mowdog for the photos/videos and match report.

And good luck for the rest of the season to Tuffley. They show a great attitude on the pitch and are a pleasure to play against."

CHRIS DEAN, MIDFIELDER, BINFIELD FC...
