NUNEATON GRIFF FORWARD JOSH RUFF COMMENTS ON THE 4-0 VICTORY OVER BROMSGROVE SPORTING...

"I think the game went perfectly, just how we would have wanted. We expected Bromsgrove to be compact and to come out of the blocks quickly, which I feel they failed to do and they didn’t impose themselves on the game.

We defended well from the front, through to the back-four, meaning they couldn’t create from areas they wanted to. We expected them to have large periods of the game on top and we knew we needed to take any chances which came our way.

We were very clinical, although we definitely could have scored more goals. I don’t feel we looked like we were under sustained pressure for large amounts of time and so we didn’t become anxious and nervous, or make bad decisions, defensively.

I thought that the work-rate was sublime, the attitude of every player just what was needed in big game situations. I know that officials get a lot of stick and I’m normally the first to agree with that but those guys were excellent and allowed the game to flow, like it needed to.

All in all, I don’t think anyone can argue that we deserved the win and the clean sheet. We went into the game knowing that they had to win and so did we and we were not walking off that pitch with anything less than a victory.

We showed that, with the ability in the squad, we are more than capable of going on to win this league still…"
