Worst sporting moment so far?
When I took a bad tackle and had to receive 14 stitches in my leg, which meant having 3 months away from football…

Briscoe asks his skipper if it's OK to wear a hair-band.
Coxy the Oracle replies: "Well, it's all right, I guess but it's usually what girls do, Rossie..."

Briscoe responds: "Yeah, boss. Thanks."

THE MOWDOG COMMENTS…

Is Chris related to the 16th century CAPTAIN COX of Coventry ?
He was a collector of ballads and romances and was described at the time as:

‘…an od man, I promiz yoo: by profession a mason, and that right skilfull; very cunning in fens, and hardy as Gavin; … great oversight hath he in matters of storie…’

There you go, Chris, your fame has preceded you…

You are ‘cunning in fens’…
Maybe you could demonstrate that to us at the Presentation Evening in 2016?

Nicknamed ‘Coxy’… Gods, that took some thought from his team-mates…

He’s a West Hammer…
Once, West Ham was the team to watch not win anything but play with great skill…
Now? They lose at home to the Cherries, 3-4…

All-time favourite is Zidane…
Fine choice but his current favourite is Gerrard?
OK. I see that some of Coxy’s play is dramatic, like that of the vintage Gerrard and also Coxy scores important goals, like his hero but I do credit Chris with an ability to express himself in intelligible English, without looking like someone is driving a six-inch nail into his arse.

He likes hawks…
My favourite basketball team is the Atlanta Hawks, so fair play, Coxy…

A pet lion would sit well with Captain Cox of Coventry United in England…

Good and lots of winning moments for Coxy, then…

But injuries have caused the skipper some real problems and lows…

No gossip from the skipper, so here’s some from The Mowdog:

The alternative Captain Cox, a diplomat of the East India Company was born in 1760 and was drafted in to quell trouble between Arakan refugees and the local Rakhains in Burma and Bengal. He died suddenly, aged 39 but apart from having a Bangladesh town named after him (Cox’s Bazar), he is also credited for his theory of the origin of chess as a four-player game (The Cox-Forbes Theory…) The diplomat wasn’t actually a Chris, but Hiram…

Well, Coxy, life amazes, sometimes…

Coxy displays a fit knee @ Hinckley...

Cheers, Hiram, or should that be Cunning Fen?
