BOLDMERE S&S FALCONS MANAGER RICHARD HEATH WRITES ABOUT THE CURRENT SITUATION AT HIS CLUB...

"It’s been a frustrating season for most of us, if you're at the top of a league, in cup finals or going for promotion, it must feel like you’ve been cheated out of that chance to be successful. If you’re at the bottom of the league though, or struggling, then you probably feel relieved that the season has been declared null & void.

My personal opinion is that the FA had no choice but to make that decision. We cry out for decisions to be made swiftly so we know where we stand as clubs and whether you agree with it or not, the decision has been made. We can now look forward to next season starting, whenever that may be...
RICHARD SINGS 'WE'LL MEET AGAIN'... (NOT REALLY...)

I don’t think points per game would have been a fair way to determine the season finishing, for there were too many games outstanding. You only had to look at Earlswood in our league who had 17 games left, then check Solihull who only had 6 left. Many would disagree with me but I just think the FA was left with no choice.

On a personal note with my team Boldmere S & S Falcons, it was always going to be difficult to replicate the season we had before in the MFL 2.

I knew Reece Gibson was going to Sutton Town for a fully deserved move and it was touch and go if Kyle Hudlin would stay. A couple of the older players stepped down too, so losing experience and a 40 goal a season man meant that the season would be a challenge.

We went with a younger side and started the season really well. Kyle Hudlin was scoring for fun and defensively we were good, so it was looking promising.

Then injuries came, skipper Danny Fleming decided to stop playing and we already had a tight squad in terms of numbers, so we started to look a bit thin on the ground.

Credit to the lads though, some played through matches with niggles, some played out of position and consequently the results dipped a bit but I could never question the commitment of the players.

We are installing floodlights in the next few months and we are looking to put a reserve team into the MFL Reserve Division, as well as making more improvements just to keep growing as a club. The credit for that must go to Chairman Bryan Bryant for making it happen, although I am a very demanding manager too and I want to keep pushing him as much as possible!

It feels like next season will never come round with so much uncertainty in the world at the moment but I think when it does, everybody will be chomping at the bit to get started.

Stay safe everybody..."
