Late In The Evening: Staged By Piran

It’s late in the evening.

So very late…

The stage, like the sun, is now set,

As deep reds onto a backdrop pour,

Like Bordeaux wine

And streetlights

Like footlights shine

Upon my role, disaffected and raw,

To ease a troubled mind’s furore…

And the ocean whispers

Its hesitant rush,

Like a sublime balm:

It lightens me

To instil calm, 

As Piran’s theatre quietly enthrals 

Until night-time’s curtain finally falls.

For it’s late in the evening. 

So very late…

Strange, looking at this image, for it reminds me of a moody stage, designed to be investigated…

The sea is close and the sunset dramatic, like the theatrical suggestion of the artwork…

It makes me want to be on that stage as evening ebbs away, wine in one hand, feeling the edginess and distress of life fading away too…
